West Ham revealed on Tuesday that promising defender Ajibola ‘Aji’ Alese had committed to a new contract.

Alese has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal, with the option for a further year. He can operate as both a centre-half and a left-back, which appears to fit perfectly with the way David Moyes utilises both a back four and back three, depending on the fixture.

The Englishman made his debut for the Hammers in September as they thrashed Hull City 5-1 in the third round of the EFL Cup.

Football.london’s Sam Inkersole awarded him an eight out of 10 for his performance that night, writing that he ‘never looked overawed’.

In January, the 20-year-old was sent on loan to League Two promotion-chasers Cambridge United to gain more experience of the men’s game.

He has largely been a substitute at the Abbey Stadium, but did start last weekend in a 4-2 win against Oldham Athletic.

Alese has also caught the eye of England’s youth set-up. Having captained his country’s Under-16s in the past, he was called up to represent the Under-20s last October.

Todos buscando equilíbrio na retaguarda, para errarem o mínimo possível e, agora, com um recém-efetivado comandante, terem mais sucesso.

Mike Ashley must sanction a summer swoop for Newcastle United to re-sign Adam Armstrong from Blackburn Rovers.

What’s the word?

According to TEAMtalk, Toon chiefs are ready to push on with plans to lure Armstrong back to St. James’ Park at the end of the season, regardless of what division they are in.

United presently sit just two points above the Premier League drop zone, having only won two of their last 18 games to see a 10-point lead over Fulham be almost entirely eliminated.

Armstrong left Tyneside for Blackburn in 2018 for £2m in a deal sanctioned by Rafa Benitez but has excelled at Ewood Park to now be worth a reported £25m after scoring 19 goals in 33 Championship appearances this term.

Yet Newcastle could land Armstrong in the summer for far less, as the Magpies included a 40% sell-on clause in their agreement with Rovers. As such, the 24-year-old is expected to be available to Ashley for around £16m.

The Toon hierarchy seemingly believe that Armstrong represents good value for that sort of money, as they are said to be ready to present the forward with a path back to where his career began.

Armstrong would be interested in a return to his former academy side, per Chronicle Live, but he has endless respect for Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray for offering him the chance to reset a career stagnating under Benitez.

Newcastle are not alone in tracking the free-scoring second-tier star, also, as David Moyes is said to have marked Armstrong as West Ham United’s top striker target while Southampton, Everton and Fulham have previously been linked.

Should Newcastle sign Blackburn’s Armstrong?

Newcastle holding a 40% sell-on clause for any fee Blackburn pick up for Armstrong will undoubtedly prove beneficial should United look to bring the West Denton-born frontman back to St. James’ Park at the end of the season.

The Toon certainly ought to be exploring a reunion, as Steve Bruce is not seeing anywhere near the needed level of competition for places from Dwight Gayle, Andy Carroll and Joelinton to leave 10-goal top-scorer Callum Wilson carrying the burden.

Gayle, Carroll and Joelinton each have scored just once in the Premier League this season, to extend appalling records of netting only five in 31, one in 35 and three in 61 games respectively over the past two campaigns combined.

Armstrong would be expected to offer a much higher level of competition for Wilson in the top-flight next term, should he be signed and Newcastle stay up, or fire the goals that secure United an immediate return from the second-tier.

Only Ivan Toney (28) and Teemu Pukki (22) have scored more often in the Championship this season than Armstrong (19), but each play for sides in Brentford and Norwich who have a chance of securing automatic promotion while Blackburn are 16 points adrift of the play-off places.

Yet Rovers boss Mowbray has no doubt in Armstrong’s talent, noting last month how the forward is “special” and has “Premier League quality”. It’s that type of quality that Lee Charnley should be working to bring back to St. James’ Park and Ashley must sanction the signing.

Queens Park Rangers got back to winning ways with a victory over Millwall at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Mark Warburton’s side quickly found themselves down 2-0 inside the first 40 minutes before a second-half inspired comeback saw the home side clinch all three points to move into the top half of the table.

Plenty of the Hoops faithful were quick to laud the performance of Lyndon Dykes on his return to the starting XI even despite the striker failing to find the net. Many believed the Scotsman was the ‘Man of the Match,’ as seen here.

However, there was another player – also returning to Warburton’s lineup – that deserves just as many plaudits, if not more.

That being, match-winner Jordy de Wijs, who impressed yet again in only his third appearance since joining from Hull City on loan in January.

Indeed, the 26-year-old Dutchman rated out among the Rs’ best performers with a 7.4 rating from SofaScore – only Lee Wallace (7.5) and Stefan Johansen (7.6) managed better.

And aside from bagging the all-important goal four minutes from time, he was still a rock at the back, even despite the visitors finding the net twice.

De Wijs won three of his four aerial duels (75%) and it was that sort of presence that completely thwarted the Lions’ main threat in Mason Bennett, who won just 19% of his aerial duels, as per SofaScore.

The 6 foot 2 centre-back also put in one clearance and one block in the heart of Warburton’s three-man midfield.

His 92 touches were only bettered by one other player on the pitch, defensive partner Yohan Barbet (99) and that only goes to show just how involved he was in the match, pretty much starting most of QPR’s attacks.

A match-high 74 accurate passes would reinforce that too.

West London Sport waxed lyrical about the £1.08m-rated loanee in their post-match ratings column, grading him a seven out of ten – ‘Atoned for that [error] in a huge way by nodding home Ilias Chair’s corner to seal a remarkable comeback and made a crucial block to deny Wallace when the score was 2-0.’

De Wijs stole the show on the night and that’ll please Warburton immensely.

Aos 20 anos de idade, Léo Passos disputou a Série B pelo Londrina – foram 17 partidas e cinco gols. Ele estava no Palmeiras desde 2013 e passou pelas categorias sub-15, sub-17 e sub-20. Pelos juniores do Verdão, conquistou duas vezes no Campeonato Paulista, uma Copa do Brasil e um Brasileiro.

No time profissional, ele jogou uma vez, contra a Ponte Preta, no Campeonato Paulista de 2019.

According to an update by reliable club source ExWHUemployee, via West Ham News, the Hammers could look to overhaul their goalkeeping department either this summer or next summer, with main options Lukasz Fabianksi and Darren Randolph at the centre of growing injury concerns coupled with age.

Fabianski, who has made 89 appearances in all competitions for the Irons since signing from Swansea City in the summer of 2018 (Transfermarkt), is David Moyes’ number one choice between the sticks.

However, at 35 years old and with injury concerns mounting, ExWHUemployee claims the Poland veteran could make way for new blood either in this summer’s transfer window or next year.

The same goes for his deputy Randolph, who isn’t getting any younger himself at the age of 33.

كشفت تقارير صحفية إنجليزية أن هناك تفكير من قبل نادي آرسنال في التخلص من لاعب وسط الفريق الأول لكرة القدم محمد النني، خلال شهر يناير المقبل في الانتقالات الشتوية.

وينتهي عقد محمد النني مع آرسنال مع نهاية الموسم الحالي في يونيو 2022، وبالتالي سيرحل المصري الدولي حال عدم التمديد بالمجان عن ملعب “الآمارات”، بعد مشوار استمر لمدة 6 سنوات مع الجانرز.
